Mental/Emotional Care

I’m not a therapist and I don’t put myself out as one, but the work I do compliments talk therapy really well by helping your nervous system develop healthier patterns. I strongly believe in the interconnectedness between our mental health and our physical health. So, I love forming treatment plans to support clients’ mental and emotional health in addition to their body.

Fertility & Pediatric Care

Acupuncture can be a really great support for folks who are trying to get pregnant. It has been used in Chinese medicine for ages to help peoples’ menstrual cycles be as comfortable and regular as possible to support chances of someone becoming pregnant.

I also provide pediatric care on a sliding scale through Jade Kids, where I use a touch based system of massage, acupressure (no needles on young kids!), and sometimes herbs to support kids up to age 20 and even as young as babies. Common issues I treat include digestive, immune system, skin, allergy, and sleep.

Melissa massages a client's face while they lay face up and have their eyes closed. They look deeply relaxed.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is an ancient practice that uses micro needling to help soften face lines and scars and muscle lifting techniques to lift face muscles that disengage with age. My Leo heart loves to spread confidence out to the people I care about, so I absolutely love these sessions. My favorite thing about cosmetic acupuncture is that while treatments like Botox and facelifts actually change your facial expressions and structure, cosmetic acupuncture simply just makes you look like a softened version of the age that you are.

Chronic Health Issues

Most of us are likely to experience chronic health issues and/or disability at some point in our lives. In my acupuncture practice, I provide highly individualized care to support people who might never be “well” again by society’s ableist standards, so that they can find happiness right where they’re at. Unlike many acupuncturists in my field, I know that we don’t often have control over our health outcomes as much as we are told we do. So, I’m all about meeting someone right where they are at, working with other practitioners in a persons’ care team, and seeing how we can help them feel just even a bit better in their day to day life.
